Ambrosia Carey
My name is Ambrosia Carey. I've been doing hair for 8 years with Magnum Opus, located in the Pearl district in Portland, OR. Throughout my career I've been guided by the worlds' leading hair educators such as Yosh Toya, Gina Kahn, Geno Stampora, Candy Shaw, Scott Cole, Susie Bond, Perry Monge, and more.
In 2007, I was awarded Top Ten stylist in the the Nation by Intercoiffure, a prestigious membership within the industry!
From there I was given the chance to showcase my talent on stage at an Intercoiffure show with leading stylists in the industry. The show was so successful, I was asked to perform on stage again. I had the honer of recreating one of Scott Cole's famous styles, during which he received and was awarded Artistic Director for Intercoiffure!
The journey evolved into local fashion shows and photo shoots including clothing, jewelry, and even paper! Some of which I have been given recognition through publication in both National and International hairstyling magazines and books.
Last fall, I came back home with a trophy from Intercoiffure for wining a make-over challenge. I gained so much experience and recognition from that while learning there was more to it than just competing. It inspired me to further compete, where I placed as a finalist with Shu Uemura Art of Hair.
I believe we were all put here to make great changes and inspire others. I continue to strive for further challenges and have a passion for contributing to changing lives. With all my love for this industry, I only hope I can further inspire others with that same goal while continuing to raise the bar in the hair world.
